Foundation in Obedience
Building Drive
Long-Term Reward
Every dog is motivated at different levels by different motivators.  The best way to get your dog to WANT to work for you is to build their drive through high value rewards.
Attempting to rush a dog through the training process will cause frustration for both you and your dog.  Consistency and continual reinforcement will pay-off in the long run in your relationship with your dog!
There is nothing more amazing to watch than a well trained and motivated dog interact with his owner, and a solid foundation in obedeince is the key.

“Once you have had a wonderful dog, a life without one, is a life diminished.”
Dean Koontz
A Dog is for Life
When you make the decision to bring a dog into your life as part of your family, you have signed up for a big responsibility.  Dogs are instinctively pack animals, and they will view your family as their pack.  The vast majority of dogs do not wish to take on a leadership role within their pack, so it is up to you to establish yourself as their pack leader.  Part of the process of building that relationship and establishing a leadership role, is a foundation in solid obedience.  A dog that is unlcear of boundaries, uncertain of leadership roles, and lacks basic obedience, will become a nuisance and be prone to behavior problems; ultimately, this takes away from the joy of having a dog as a member of your family.  Do both you and your dog a big favor, and make sure that you have a plan to implement a solid obedience program, and establish yourself as the pack leader.
